Build Your Hybrid Cloud Skills with Db2 Community Edition and Openshift

There has been much interest in database containerization and their movement to Hybrid cloud. The promise of such a move is that it will provide a hybrid cloud database services with the benefits of simplicity of deployment, uniformity in management, simplified availability and the elasticity modern databases require.

Many database solutions have simply been created in the image of their standard operating system installation for the database platforms or deployed in such an architecture that does not provide the transactional performance with the transactional consistency Enterprises demand.

Db2 now has a fully service driven architecture deployment/install of Db2 that is available for any level of Db2 Edition License from Db2 Community Edition through Db2 Advanced and IBM Cloud Pak for data. It includes built in failover leveraging native Kubernetes Availability as well as service resilience built into the containers, along with tools and security services.

It supports Red Hat OpenShift for Developers through to large enterprise deployments.

This architecture is fully deployable as an SMP or DPF configuration and can be deployed on a Single Node Desktop environment on Centos7 and OpenShift.
