Does your data infrastructure remind you of a fruit smoothie?

Stuck at home and trying to stay heathy got me thinking about fruit smoothies. It sounds like a good idea until you start making one and realize there are lots of ingredients that all need to be prepared. It got me thinking, how some of my client’s data infrastructures are kind of like making a fruit smoothie – lots of effort is needed to blend different components together to get a good result.

According to a recent Forrester survey sponsored by IBM, the top technical challenges when analyzing data are 1) integrating multiple sources of data, 2) dealing with large data volumes, 3) the time to assemble data and 4) integrating multiple data formats effectively.

If you’re extracting and moving data to another infrastructure, processing it and manually manipulating it to generate insight, then Forrester and IBM may have an answer for you.
